After returning from a business trip, Jo is shocked to find her home in chaos. Despite her meticulous preparations, her husband, Brandon, failed to maintain the house or care for their children properly. “You didn’t make enough food for the week, Jo,” Brandon says casually, highlighting his lack of appreciation for her efforts.
Frustrated and overwhelmed, Jo decides to leave, seeking refuge at her parents’ house. There, she reflects on her feelings of being undervalued.
When Jo returns home, she finds that Brandon has made some attempts to clean, but it’s clear there’s still work to be done. She presents him with a “bill” for all the tasks she handles, forcing him to realize the imbalance in their relationship. Brandon admits, “I want to be part of the kids’ lives, not just someone to fill in their basic needs.”
As they sit down to a family dinner in a clean home, Jo feels hopeful that things will improve and that Brandon has learned his lesson.
