Marsha’s suspicions grow as her husband Tom becomes increasingly secretive, disappearing for hours and taking calls in the garage. “I noticed him casting anxious glances out into the yard,” Marsha observes. Her worry escalates when she catches him burying black bags in the middle of the night. “I saw a figure moving in the shadows,” she recounts.
Driven by fear and curiosity, Marsha confronts Tom as he’s burying the bags. “What the hell are you doing?” she demands. To her shock, the bags contain garden gnomes and decorations stolen from their neighbor Gary. Tom explains, “Gary’s been stealing from us for months. I took his stuff to teach him a lesson.”
Relieved Tom isn’t involved in anything sinister, Marsha insists, “You should have told me.” They decide to return the stolen items and confront Gary. The resolution brings unexpected camaraderie, with Gary eventually inviting them for a barbecue, turning a tense situation into an opportunity for reconciliation.
