Margaret, with little Emma, sought shelter at Harold’s house, where Harold initially turned them away. After spending a night in the garden, Margaret woke up early to tidy up, surprising Harold. “What are you doing?” he demanded. Margaret explained, “I just wanted to thank you for letting us stay.”
